About the Speaker

Dr. Paulina Carmona-Mora, PhD, Instructor of Pharmacology, Faculty at Department of Basic Sciences California Northstate University College of Medicine Dr. Paulina Carmona-Mora is a leading expert in genomic medicine and molecular biomarkers. Her research focuses on the epigenetic and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological and developmental disorders, including autism and stroke. At CNU, she utilizes advanced bioinformatics and genomic tools to translate laboratory discoveries into clinical improvements for patient care, using discovery and implementation science. Beyond her research, Dr. Carmona-Mora is an internationally recognized leader in science diplomacy and policy. She has over a decade of experience advising global organizations, including serving as an expert for the International Science Council. A passionate advocate for the next generation of healthcare professionals, she is deeply committed to mentorship, particularly for under-represented and early-career scientists. Dr. Carmona-Mora holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of New South Wales, Australia and previously served as a senior research scientist at the UC Davis MIND Institute and Department of Neurology.
