About the Project

What is Heroes Behind the Mask?

Heroes Behind the Mask book flyer

Heroes Behind the Mask is a book created under Pre-Health Shadowing to capture the real stories of healthcare professionals who served during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project features stories from doctors, nurses, public health experts, educators, and other healthcare leaders, exploring the intersection of healthcare, humanity, service, and systemic inequity.

Through this internship, students will help expand the project’s reach, strengthen its digital presence, develop partnerships, coordinate events, support participating authors, and increase awareness of the book and its mission.
