AMSSM provides a forum to foster professional relationships among sports medicine physicians and students, in order to advance the discipline of sports medicine through education, research, advocacy and excellence in patient care. The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) was formed in 1991 to fill a void that has existed in sports medicine from its earliest beginnings. The Founders, most recognized and expert sports medicine specialists, realized that while there were several physician organizations which supported sports medicine, there was not a forum specific for primary care non-surgical sports medicine physicians.

Sports Medicine Review is a website dedicated to all things primary care sports medicine, especially resources for aspiring sports medicine students. Our goal is to help generate a community that fosters original ideas and content for medical students, residents, fellows and attendings interested in or involved in sports medicine.

Sport Med School is designed to grow and meet your Sport Medicine and Musculoskeletal (MSK) Education needs. This is a website for medical students, residents, practicing physicians with questions and interest in sports and exercise medicine. A searchable database of peer-reviewed articles on musculoskeletal conditions, question bank, case studies, clinical images, and eventually instructional videos will enhance your MSK learning.
