Who can apply? ▾
High school, college, grad students, and early-career professionals—worldwide. All roles are fully remote.
Do I need prior experience? ▾
No prior experience is required. We value initiative, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Many of our leaders started as volunteers or shadowers.
What’s the time commitment? ▾
Roles vary based on scope and season:
- Department Heads: 10–15 hrs/week (up to 20 during busy periods)
- Lead Managers: 20–30 hrs/week
- Leads: 10–20 hrs/week (minimum 5 hrs/week)
Is there a deadline to apply? ▾
We review applications on a rolling basis. Expect a response in 5–7 business days. During peak periods, there may be delays—we’ll communicate any changes.
What’s the interview process? ▾
- Application review
- Short screening (15–20 minutes)
- Team interview(s) & role preview
- Role-specific task — may include:
- Designing a social post or campaign concept
- Drafting an outreach email or event run-of-show
- Completing a short research/data entry project
- Building a slide deck for a specific PHS use case
- Meet the founder and CEO
Tasks are brief, realistic, and matched to the role you’re exploring.
How does onboarding and training work? ▾
You’ll get tool access, role-specific SOPs, and your first project with lead support.
- Leadership training & onboarding: ~2 weeks
- Average ramp time to full contribution: ~4 weeks
What kinds of roles are available? ▾
- Outreach & Community — schools, clubs, organizations
- Live Session Coordination — speaker booking, event flow
- Project Management — multi-team initiatives
- Marketing & Content — social, copy, design
- Research & Insights — data, surveys
- Partnerships — mapping & outreach
How fast can I grow? ▾
Members get promoted regularly. As a general guideline, team members who contribute actively for about 4 months are commonly considered for leadership roles.
Do you offer certificates or letters? ▾
Yes. Volunteer certificates and Letters of Recommendation are available upon request.
Letter criteria: at least 6 months of active contribution, unless otherwise stated.
What tools will I use? ▾
Common stack: Zoom (events), Monday.com (project management), Google Workspace, and scheduling tools like Later.com. We’ll train you.
Will I get training and mentorship? ▾
Yes—role guides, training courses, live walkthroughs, and ongoing mentorship from your lead/manager.
What’s expected of team members? ▾
Clear communication, meeting commitments, proactive problem-solving, and documenting work in our shared tools.
What if I need to step down? ▾
Please give two weeks’ notice and hand off all tasks/files so your projects continue smoothly.
