About the Author: Rahul is a freshman neuroscience student at Texas A&M University. He is currently pursuing a path in medicine and potentially a career as a clinical scientist with an MD/PhD degree. He is also interested in neuroscience and neurology as future careers!
Pre-Health Shadowing has provided me with opportunities to interact with knowledgeable health professionals as well as get a glimpse into the different professions in medicine. The shadowing sessions have reshaped my focus and has encouraged me to further pursue a research role alongside a medical field through an MD/PhD degree to help bring both clinical and bench research to the patients in a hospital. Not only that but Pre-Health Shadowing has also allowed me to form connections with those who are interested in medicine and are interested in pursuing a similar path to me. Pre-Health Shadowing has provided me with many opportunities, and I am very grateful because, without their support and service, I would not know as much as I know about the health professions today!
