About the Speaker
Hagerah Malik is a third-year MD/Ph.D. student at the University of Chicago’s Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). She is currently working on her Ph.D. in neurobiology in the lab of Demet Arac. Hagerah completed her BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in 2018 and spent a year doing HIV research at the Icahn School of Medicine before moving to Chicago to join the MSTP. She is a board member and the Co-Director of Recruitment for a national non-profit called the Populi Foundation, which connects socioeconomical
