About the Speaker
David R. Friedland, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery; Associate Dean for Clinical Research; Director of Clinical Artificial Intelligence Applications; and Director of the Clinical Research Services Core in Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. Dr. Friedland received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City where he also completed residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He completed his fellowship training in Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. He started his career at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee where he was Division Chief of Otology and Neuro-otologic Skull Base Surgery, Chief of the Division of Research, and Vice-Chair of Otolaryngology and Communication Science.
