About the Speaker

Nicole Struthers, MS, PA (ASCP)CM, MLS (ASCP)CM is a board-certified Pathologists’ Assistant and Instructor in the Pathologists’ Assistant Department within the College of Health Professions at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She joined the faculty in 2022 and is actively involved in didactic, laboratory, and clinical education across the curriculum, with teaching responsibilities that include autopsy pathology, clinical correlations, anatomic pathology clerkships, and clinical anatomy. Mrs. Struthers earned her Master of Health Science in Pathologists’ Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and her Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from Northern Illinois University.

Prior to transitioning into academia, she practiced as a Pathologists’ Assistant in high-volume surgical pathology services, experience that continues to inform her teaching and mentorship of students. Her educational interests focus on fostering clinical competence, confidence, and critical thinking in future healthcare professionals. In addition to her teaching role, Mrs. Struthers contributes extensively through program, college, and university service, including admissions, curriculum development, accreditation-related initiatives, and student advocacy. She remains professionally active through scholarship, and involvement with the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

How to get your Participation Certificate

After the presentation, return to this course to take the post-lecture quiz. The quiz will consist of information that was presented during the session and should not be difficult if you watched the presentation. Once you finish and pass the quiz, mark the course as complete. Your certificate will be available for download as a PDF file upon completion.
