About the Speaker
Dr. Edgardo R. Rodriguez-Collazo, DPM is a board-certified reconstructive podiatric surgeon with over 25 years of clinical and surgical experience, based in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the Department of Surgery at Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Podiatric Surgical Residency as well as Director of the CPME Deformity Correction & Microsurgical Limb Reconstruction Fellowship. Dr. Rodriguez-Collazo is a recognized leader in complex lower-extremity reconstruction, specializing in deformity correction, microsurgical nerve and limb reconstruction, and advanced salvage procedures. He is also a Board Member and Fellow of the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons and the Founder and Chairman of the Chicago Lower Extremity Surgical Foundation (CLESF).
Dr. Rodriguez-Collazo has particular expertise in microsurgical nerve reconstruction, phantom pain–reducing amputation techniques, targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR), and the treatment of complex conditions such as congenital deformities, bone infections, diabetic neuropathy, post-traumatic disorders, and nerve injuries. He is one of only a few surgeons in the United States performing phantom pain-free trans-tibial amputations and is the only surgeon within the Ascension Health system in Chicago offering this advanced approach. In addition to his work in the U.S., he collaborates annually on pediatric limb reconstruction initiatives at Instituto Nacional de Pediatría and Shriners Hospital in Mexico City. Through his clinical work, education, and research, Dr. Rodriguez-Collazo remains deeply committed to innovation, mentorship, and improving quality of life for patients with complex lower-extremity conditions.
