About the Speaker

Dr. Amy Hinkelman is associate professor of microbiology and immunology at Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine and teaches both medical and graduate students. She completed her bachelor’s degree in biology from Baylor University, doctoral degree in microbiology at the University of Kansas, and postdoctoral training in immunology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine studying host immune responses to influenza virus infection. Over the past few years, Dr. Hinkelman has coupled her expertise as a medical educator with her passion to serve her community to address health needs by partnering with local community members, faith leaders, health science students and faculty, and Dr. David Tillman with the public health department at Campbell University. Much of this work has been supported by Interfaith America, building collaborations at the intersection of faith, health, and science across diverse worldviews. One of her greatest passions in life is empowering others—and she has and continues to mentor pre-health students and medical students in their journey to embracing who they are and discovering and pursuing their own dharma.

How to get your Participation Certificate

After the presentation, return to this course to take the post-lecture quiz. The quiz will consist of information that was presented during the session and should not be difficult if you watched the presentation. Once you finish and pass the quiz, mark the course as complete. Your certificate will be available for download as a PDF file upon completion.
