About the Speaker
Dr. Val Malika Reagon is an influential force in public health, bringing over 25 years of experience across healthcare management, global public health, and health systems strengthening. A passionate advocate for global health equity, Dr. Reagon’s work has impacted communities globally, leading to improved programmatic and health outcomes and stronger health systems. She holds a Doctorate in Public Health and has built a distinguished career, driving innovative solutions for complex public health challenges. Dr. Reagon has spearheaded the development of strategic information systems and processes for U.S.-funded programs, particularly in HIV, TB, and other infectious diseases. Her dynamic leadership has transformed monitoring and evaluation frameworks, health equity measurement, and data quality initiatives that continue to shape the future of public health globally. Dr. Reagon has collaborated with high-impact organizations such as USAID, the Department of Defense, and PEPFAR, creating lasting change through data-driven strategies and inclusive approaches. Dr. Reagon’s unique blend of experience also includes over 15 years in healthcare management, during which time she implemented EPIC electronic health records and expanded clinical services in major hospitals in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. Her multifaceted background allows her to create efficient systems to improve patient care and efficiency in both public health and hospital clinics globally. Beyond her technical expertise, Dr. Reagon’s passion for financial literacy, traveling, and community service demonstrates her commitment to broader social issues. Her diverse experiences and insights make her sessions deeply engaging, inspiring audiences to think critically about health systems and strategies that improve lives. Dr. Reagon holds degrees from Northwestern University, Tulane University, and Georgia Southern University. When not leading global health initiatives, she enjoys exploring Texas, reading, and soaking in the vibrant culture of New Orleans.
