About the Speaker
Carling Matejka grew up on a beef cattle farm in Alberta, Canada. She had always dreamt about becoming a mixed animal veterinarian to advocate for and help animals. While working on her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Alberta, she was accepted into the University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine program. After her graduation in 2018, she moved back to her family farm and worked in a mixed animal practice for 3 years. In 2021, Carling moved to Calgary and works in a predominantly small animal practice. She has always been very involved in her family farm and still does the majority of the veterinary work.
